Overview

Cordillera is a gated neighborhood in the Serrano development that is located in the picturesque community of El Dorado Hills, California, about 30 miles east of Sacramento on the gently rolling western slopes of the Sierras. The 3,500 acre community of Serrano is composed of several individual gated neighborhoods, each with its own character and style. Cordillera is located at the corner of Bass Lake Road and Serrano Parkway in the easternmost corner of Serrano. Spanish and Italian style architecture give it a Mediterranean feel and the surrounding greenbelt, dotted with century old oak trees, contrasts sharply with the perfectly manicured landscaped areas. Cordillera has its own private neighborhood park and is free of unnecessary street lights so that you can easily see millions of stars overhead on the many clear summer nights. Since Cordillera sits high above the rest of Serrano, the views of the valley to the west and Sierras to the east are spectacular. South Lake Tahoe is only 75 miles away and you can reach the San Francisco Bay area in less than two hours. The schools in the area are top rated and offer many sports programs for the kids. There is even an on-site public library and visitor's center.

Serrano is one of the largest master-planned communities in California. While offering the look and feel of a charming, picturesque small town, it provides all of the amenities and conveniences of city living -- quality shopping and dining spots, easy access to jobs both within the local community and in nearby Sacramento, and wonderful places to visit and things to do in your leisure time. Living here offers the chance to play the Robert Trent Jones, Jr. 18-hole, par-72 golf course, walk along quiet pathways beneath canopies of mature oak trees and through acres of naturally preserved wetlands, or bike the many paths dotted with wildflowers. There are several multi-use sports fields in the local parks, and some also have basketball and tennis courts. There are two Farmer's Markets during the summer, an annual 4th of July celebration, an Easter Egg hunt for the kids, summer concerts in the park, a free outdoor movie night, and Saturday in the Park held each August. Just minutes away from Serrano are supermarkets, retail shops, restaurants, and key services such as a post office and a fire station. Many of the retail establishments are located within two shopping centers, Raley's Center (near the entrance to Serrano) and Town Center (near the Interchange at Highway 50). In addition, La Borgata, adjacent to Serrano, a Tuscan-themed luxury shopping center offers upscale shopping and dining.
