Area Facts


El Dorado Hills is an unincorporated community in El Dorado County. It is represented by three supervisors on the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors. Community services are provided by either El Dorado County or the El Dorado Hills Community Services District (CSD).

El Dorado Hills is considered a CENSUS DESIGNATED PLACE. This means it is a type of place (a concentration of population) identified by the United States Census Bureau for statistical purposes. CDPs are communities that lack separate municipal government, but which otherwise physically resemble incorporated places. CDPs are delineated to provide data for settled concentrations of population that are identifiable by name but are not legally incorporated under the laws of the state in which they are located. The boundaries of a CDP have no legal status.

The wettest month is January, with about 5.5 inches on average. Some frost is common in the winter months, but it rarely snows in El Dorado Hills.
